In Acts 3:19-21, Peter says the times of refreshing and restoration of the kingdom will be brought about by a complete repentance of the Jewish people.  This demonstrates God’s incredible patience for if Christ established his kingdom on earth in the early chapters of Acts, then there would be anywhere from 120 to a few thousand people in it.  Everyone else would be decisively judged.  So ultimately it is God’s kindness that has delayed the kingdom.  Is this not what this same apostle writes in 2 Pet. 3:9, that God is patiently waiting to send Christ back as judge because he would rather people repent so that they don’t perish?  It’s no wonder Paul says in Rom. 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!  Especially because, according to Acts 2 and 4, the rejection and murder of Christ by the Jewish people was all part of God’s predestined plan to save sinners.  So contained in our message, must be the call to turn to the Lord and seek Him while he may be found.
