The Apostle Paul supplies a familiar verse in Gal. 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. This new life of Paul’s is that which came about through Christ’s death and his own death with Christ. This is life that makes us more like Christ now and will transform us into exactly like him in the end.

So is this the life you pursue or is your life wrapped up in something of this world—even if it’s good things; things which aren’t evil in and of themselves. It could be work or family or hobbies or socializing with friends. What consumes you and what are you known for?
That answer can be discerned by asking: What do you spend your time doing and thinking about and talking about and filling your mind with?
Those are crucial assessments, for Christ demands that those who say they believe in him, must love him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. But what does this look like to love him with our lives?

It’s living for others—1 John 3:16 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. To have the life of Christ is to have a life lived for the benefit of others, for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life a ransom for many.
